Terms of service
Last updated: October 31, 2026
These terms govern your use of Hedgekeep (the "game," "service"), operated by Jomho ("we," "us," "our"). By creating a Keeper, playing as a guest, or otherwise using Hedgekeep, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to use Hedgekeep. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
You can start playing immediately as a guest — no signup required. A guest Keeper's progress lives only in that browser and can be lost at any time (a cleared cookie, a new device, and so on). Saving your progress to an account requires an email address and password.
You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it. One account per person — we may ask you to consolidate or remove duplicate accounts.
You can delete your Keeper at any time from Settings. Deleting it removes your account and everything in it for good. Anything you already sold or gave to another Keeper stays with them.
3. Virtual items have no real-world value
Gold, dice, creatures, gear, boons, keepsakes, and every other in-game item exist only inside Hedgekeep. They are not property, they cannot be exchanged for real money or anything of real value outside the game, and we can change, rebalance, or remove them at any time. The only things we ever sell for real money are move dice top-ups, cosmetic items, and an optional supporter subscription — we will never sell chests, boons, prize-wheel spins, action or ability dice, keepsakes, characters, or rare items for real money, and we don't buy any of the above back from you.
Creatures are recruited, not purchased outright, and are never traded, sold, or listed for trade. Most other items can be traded between players at our discretion, subject to whatever trading tools the game provides at the time.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or use automation, bots, or scripts to play on your behalf;
- Buy, sell, or trade accounts, or share your account with anyone else;
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse other players or Hedgekeep staff;
- Use a Keeper name, display name, or other player-visible text that is abusive, hateful, or impersonates someone else;
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other players' accounts;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell access to the service beyond what these terms allow.
5. Moderation and enforcement
We may warn, suspend, or permanently ban any account that violates these terms, at our discretion, with or without notice. A ban does not entitle you to a refund of anything you've purchased. We don't take anything out of your personal collection ourselves — enemies and other players can't either, by design.
You can report another Keeper, their stall or a guestbook line from the page it's on, and block any Keeper from their page. If we remove something you wrote or act against your account, we'll tell you what was removed and which of these terms it broke, unless the law or someone's safety means we can't. To contest a decision, write to [email protected].
6. Fair odds
Where Hedgekeep uses randomness that affects your rewards — a prize wheel, a boon offering, a crafting roll — we show the real odds, and any random gate that can block your progress includes a pity counter so a long enough streak of bad luck is never permanent.
7. What we collect
What we collect when you play, why, how long we keep it, who else handles it and what you can do about it is set out in our Privacy policy, which is part of these terms. In short: your account details and your game, sign-in records for security, your location only if you turn it on, cookieless analytics to see where players come from, and page-use recording to find bugs. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
8. Intellectual property
Hedgekeep's art, writing, code, and design are owned by Jomho or our licensors. You keep the right to the names you give your Keeper and your creatures, but you grant us a license to display them back to you and to other players as part of the normal operation of the game.
9. The service is provided "as is"
Hedgekeep is under active development and offered without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or that your progress will never be lost — back up anything that matters to you by saving your account rather than staying a guest. To the fullest extent the law allows, Jomho isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the game changes. If we make a material change, we'll post the updated terms here with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to play after that means you accept the changes.
